At Cake Club, we’ve always said that life’s too short for bad cake – and this heartfelt belief was where our story began.
Meet Marco (Founder of Cake Club)

Marco has been working in independent bars and coffee shops ever since his teen years. He loves it — making coffees, chatting with customers, building the community, and making people happy. Over the course of his time in hospitality he found amazing options for coffee beans, milk alternatives, even cleaning supplies – but the cake never quite hit the mark.
Either it was too pricey, making it unaffordable for smaller coffeeshops, or it was the same boring cake that was available in all of the large chains. And if it wasn’t either of these, it was simply…meh. And ‘meh’ cake doesn’t keep customers coming back.
He wanted the best in baking to help bring his mission to life, so he brought in his cousin Will — an experienced and talented chef who’d worked in Michelin restaurants across the UK.
The Birth of Cake Club
Working closely with Marco, Will developed the first sublime range in the Cake Club collection and under the guidance of Marco’s dad — who is also a seasoned baker – Cake Club was born.
Our launch collection paved the way for independent coffee shops to serve top-quality bakes that didn’t break the bank. Cakes that would make customers stop, savour, and smile.
From Humble Beginnings
We started small – working out of a shared kitchen in Battersea. Will in the kitchen baking up a storm, and Marco managing customer service and logistics, while personally delivering cakes across London and beyond.
Word spread, and Cake Club soon outgrew its humble beginnings, moving to rented space at a bakery on the outskirts of London. We’re now searching for the perfect spot to open a combined bakery and coffeeshop in the city.
A New Chapter, Same Sweet Mission
As Cake Club grew, Lize came on board — an experienced pastry chef and food designer who’s worked 5-star hotels and Michelin restaurants. Lize helped to develop and expand the Cake Club range that you see now.
A year on, Marco and the Cake Club team continue to stay true to their mission:
