Cake Care – the Cake Club Way

Good cake deserves good care. With a few simple steps, you can keep every slice looking sharp, tasting fresh, and ready to turn heads on your counter. Here’s how we do it at Cake Club HQ and how you can too.

Step one: straight in the freezer

Once your cakes arrive, don’t hang about – pop the ones you aren’t planning to use on the same day straight into the freezer. This keeps them fresh and flavour-packed until you’re ready to serve.

Step two: from freezer to fork

When it’s time to serve, remove cakes from the freezer and let them defrost at room temperature. No microwaves, no shortcuts – just patience and good vibes. If you only want to serve a few of the batch, now’s the time to slice along the pre-cut lines to get that perfectly clean edge. (we’ve done most of the work for you, but a quick once-over the pre-cut lines never hurts.) Pop the ones you’re not using straight back in the freezer.

Step three: display with pride

Now for the fun bit – showing the beauties off. Keep your cakes at room temperature and display them under clear domes or display cases so they stay fresher for longer. Look out for our top tips on showcasing your cakes in the most showstopping way, coming soon.

Pro tip: keep your cakes out of direct sunlight and away from heaters. Nobody likes a melty sponge.

Step four: store smart

If you’ve got leftovers (lucky you), store them overnight covered to help prolong shelf life. Most of our cakes are best eaten within three days of defrosting, though they often disappear much faster. Check the box for specific cake care instructions, some can be refrigerated while some are best kept at room temperature.
